Placing a career changer into a full-time remote sales role
A former hospitality manager with zero sales background completed our Academy program and was placed into a remote closer role with one of our partner companies.
First offer signed within the coaching program timeline; full-time remote closer role with a partner company.
The situation
The candidate had spent eight years managing a boutique hotel. When the property changed hands, the role changed with it — and the fit was gone. They wanted out of hospitality but had no formal sales background, no degree relevant to sales, and no network in the industry.
What we did
They joined our Academy program and worked through the standard 60-day track:
- Weekly 1:1 coaching calls to build discovery, objection, and closing skills
- Loom and résumé rewrites that translated hospitality experience into sales-relevant language
- Mock interviews with real hiring-manager scripts, recorded and reviewed
- Culture and mindset coaching for the shift from salaried employment to commission-weighted comp
Toward the end of the program, we made a warm introduction to a partner company from our Talent network — a high-ticket coaching business that was hiring one closer.
The outcome
They cleared the interview process, ran a strong mock call, and received an offer within the coaching program timeline. As of writing, they are working full-time as a remote closer with the partner company.
No income or employment guarantees are made. This outcome reflects individual effort and market conditions at the time.
What made the difference
Two things. First: the hospitality background turned into a strength once we reframed it. The candidate had eight years of high-stakes customer conversations, and that translates directly to sales calls. Second: the introduction. The role wasn't posted publicly. Without the warm intro, this candidate would have never seen it.
